“Dance Against Violence” Evening Charity Event

The nIc Foundation sponsors its annual “Dance Against Violence” evening charity event on the third Friday in October.  This evening charity event is one of the major fund raising activities held by the foundation. The event is held in Appleton, Wisconsin.

Dancing and musical entertainment is provided by the famous show-band Boogie and the Yo-Yo’z featuring a variety of music by a host of talented musicians.  In addition to dancing (and people watching), the fund raising event includes the most awesome raffle packages donated by very generous area businesses and also donated through generous individual / family donations.  Some of the packages include:  “Winter Wonderland Ski Wisconsin”; “Family Fishing and Camping”; “Relax, Regroup, Renew Spa Fun”; “Jewelry—a Girl’s Best Friend”; “Miller Welder”; and “Family Time—Movies, Bowling, and Pizza.”  There are many other spectacular raffle packages—something for everyone!

The nIc Store is open to Dance Against Violence attendees featuring our “nIc Peace Bears,” “Just be nice….T-shirts,” “Stop the Violence bands”, and many other items for purchase.

A “free” resource table of assorted informational materials is available including articles, brochures, and pamphlets about bullying; building character in our children; safety; drinking and driving; domestic violence; and reading, math, and civics.  Charity event attendees are invited to pick-up whatever materials are of interest.  We also have available our one-minute parent / family character education survey.  Data gathered from the survey are utilized in planning violence prevention education initiatives and resources in area communities.

All money earned from the “Dance Against Violence” evening charity event supports the nIc Foundation in its mission / goals to provide violence prevention education initiatives and resources.
