Memorial Tree Planting Ceremony
In memory of Nicolas Resch, the nIc Foundation and the class of ’95 from Clintonville High School in Clintonville, Wisconsin planted a 10 foot Autumn Blaze Maple Tree by the entry way to the high school. The tree is growing tall and proud between two evergreens.
Rev. Luke Bocher from the First Congregational United Church of Christ in New London, Wisconsin, led the memorial service. Class of ’95 members participated in the memorial tree planting ceremony. Kim Sasman read a poem and Krista and Aaron Rew released white doves at the close of the ceremony signaling the nIc Foundation taking flight promoting peace and non-violence in our everyday lives.

To Our Nicolas
We have planted this tree in honor of you
For all that you did and all that you knew.
Each leaf represents a person you have met
Friendships developed and promises kept.
The branches offer support and hope,
Everyday we grow---everyday we cope.
The trunk is the foundation that helps us stand
It defines the purpose of all mankind.
The roots seek nourishment under the ground---
Not being seen; not making a sound.
A tree represents life---it represents us,
It offers hope; it offers trust.
We love you Nicolas….
A metaphorical poem written by Steve Marcks reminding us of Nic’s daily presence in our lives…
