Read Across America Celebration
Peace Pajama Party!
Each year, the nIc Foundation partners with the Clintonville Public Library in providing an information fair and special program for children and their parents and grandparents as part of Read Across America Week promoted by the National Education Association.
Parents may participate in a one minute survey on building character which provides valuable data to the nIc Foundation. They may also gather free informational articles, booklets, and brochures on a variety of topics including character education; anti-bullying; family unity; non-violent video games; bicycle safety; domestic / family violence; teen driving; and recommended to read children’s books.
Children sign-in for the awesome door prize drawings including games, puzzles, teddy bears, and imagination toys.
The special program often features storytellers, musicians, and puppeteers sharing their stories of “peace and making good choices.” As part of the Peace Pajama Party, everyone is invited to dress in their pajamas, slippers, and robes. Dr. Seuss birthday cake and ice cream is served to everyone!
