The nIc Foundation  

 

The nIc Foundation is established out of honor and respect for Nicolas Resch.

 

The nIc Foundation is a non-profit charity established in memory of Nicolas Resch.  Nic was the victim of a violent assault leading to severe head trauma injuries.  After ten days in the critical care unit of Theda Clark Hospital, in Neenah, Wisconsin, Nic passed away on April 4, 2005.  He was 27 years of age. 

 

Nic was a talented and gifted artist and musician who was recognized for his academic achievement.  He enjoyed tennis, swimming, storytelling, and riding motorcycle.  Out of honor and respect to Nic, this foundation is established promoting violence prevention strategies through an educational focus.

"Stopping Crime & Violence in Our Rural Communities" event as part of National Crime Victims' Rights Week is scheduled for Thursday, April 25, 2013, at the Family of Christ Church, 600 S. Main Street, Clintonville, WI. The free family event features an Information Fair from 4:00 pm-6:30 pm.  Attendees may gather free informational materials on victim rights, area services and providers, bullying, family unity, youth leadership, neighborhood safety, and elderly support.  Attendees may register for free door prizes and choose a free book on parenting.  Food is also provided by area businesses. The candle lighting ceremony begins at 6:30 pm with expert speakers, victim stories, a choral tribute, and the lighting of the candles for all victims of crime and violence.
"Just Be Nice..." Saturday Fun Day is scheduled on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at the United Methodist Church in Shawano, WI., from 9:00-2:00 for children in Kindergarten through 4th grade. The cost for the day is $5 per child and includes stories, music, dance, games, safety information, a community service craft project. Register with Shawano Community Education @ 715.526.2192 X3102.
"nIc Character Camps" are currently being planned and organized for children in Kindergarten-5th grade.  The summer day camp format features an anti-bullying curriculum based on positive character traits and values.  The curriculum uses character education as a means to address and resolve bullying behaviors. Children experience the fine arts, storytelling, social skills, leadership development, manners & etiquette, decision making, and community service. Six weeks of nIc Character Camp will be offered. Camp sites are located in Clintonville, Shawano, and Bonduel. Camps run Monday-Thursday, 8:30-2:30. Scholarships are available.
Dates of camps:  June 10-13 Clintonville; July 15-18 Clintonville; July 22-25 Bonduel; July 29-Aug 1 Clintonville; Aug 5-8 Shawano; and Aug 12-15 Shawano.
